Vauxhall Remapping & ECU Tuning

There are few makes as woven into British driveways as Vauxhall. The Corsa and Astra have been default first and family cars for generations, the Insignia did years of motorway service as a company car, and the Vivaro and Movano vans are everywhere on trade jobs.

That everyday, high-volume character is exactly why tuning is worth considering. These aren’t exotic cars, they’re vehicles doing real mileage where a bit more usable torque and a bit less fuel burned adds up over the year.

CDTi diesels and small turbo petrols

The CDTi diesels respond well to an economy-focused map, which suits both the family Astra and a working Vivaro. The smaller turbo petrols benefit most from a Stage 1 remap for sharper response around town and on slip roads.

Higher-mileage diesels sometimes need engine solutions for emissions-related faults. We’ll always diagnose properly first. Fully mobile across the South West; always reversible.

Locked ECUs on 2021-onward Vauxhall

Vauxhall models built from 2021 onward often run a Bosch MDG1 ECU, and until recently those were locked. The unit would accept an official update but would not give up its own software, so it had to come out of the vehicle and be posted to a specialist to be unlocked before any tuning could start.

That step can now be done on the bench in the same visit, which takes the postage, the separate unlock fee and the days of waiting out of the job. On the Vauxhall side the covered models include the Astra, Corsa, Combo, Mokka, Crossland X, Grandland X, Vivaro and Zafira Life.
